A six pack is one of the most desired features of the male body. Almost all men dream of having a six pack, at some point in life; and all those who say they do not, are actually lying to themselves and not to you. Whether it is the aesthetics related to it, or simply the fact, that six pack men are more in demand amongst women, than men with bulky stomach, everyone wants six packs. However, six packs are hard to get, and most of us who tried to get them, know about it.
Biologically speaking, six packs constitutes of the muscles in the abdominal region. So, the same rules apply for them that apply to muscles of any other region. So, while in case of muscle build up of any other region, you work out, similarly, in case of abdominal muscles, you need to work out as well. Now, the problem with most men is that their abdominal region is covered with a thick layer of fat, under which their abdominal muscles get concealed.
Now, the rule of thumb is that, no amount of exercise is sufficient, to reveal your abs, if it gets buried under a thick layer of fat. Therefore, the first thing, which you need to do, is to make sure that you get rid of your abdominal fat. Now, there is no such a natural way of spot wise fat reduction. So, you will have to get rid of the overall fat content of the body. The following are a few steps, which can help you do so:
1.    The first thing, which you need to do, is to keep a tab on the calorie intake o of your body. Make sure, that you stay away from high calorie and junk food. Also, steer clear of carbonated drinks. This is because; these items have little or no nutrition value and are also rich in fat and carbohydrates.

2.    The second aspect is that of eating healthy food. Foods like plain milk, fresh salads, eggs, baked meat and fish, nuts, lentils and small quantities of rice as well as potatoes. You should also focus on negative calorie foods, such as cabbage.

3.    You should also increase the daily intake of water to at least two to three liters a day. Chilled water is also beneficial, as it burns up some extra fat as well.

4.    Take care, to perform overall exercise of your body, at least three to four times a week. You should do cardio exercises, like running, jogging, intensive training for around one to two times a day.
Once you have removed the fat from your tummy, now is the time for abdominal exercises, like abs crunch. As it is, all this would require a lot of effort and most importantly, a lot of discipline on your part.
